This policy covers the RaBalance app for iOS and Android. It is also the information notice (aydınlatma metni) required by Turkey's Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK).

The short version: the ledger stays on the device, there is no account, and the app carries no analytics, advertising, tracking or crash reporting. What it does send is listed below, all of it.

What stays on the device

Everything entered into the app: income and expense templates, periods, extra expenses, assets, notes, categories and reminder settings. It is stored in a database on the phone and is never sent to RaBalance's servers.

The rate history the app keeps for its charts and the figures shown on home screen widgets live on the phone too. Reminders are scheduled by the phone's own operating system, not sent from a server.

What the app sends

The app makes three kinds of request, and each one only fetches something. None of them carries anything entered in the app.

• Rates. The app downloads current exchange and gold rates and their recent history. Every user gets the same answer.
• Version check. The app sends its platform (iOS or Android), its build number and a release identifier, so the server can say whether this version is still supported. The server records which releases it has seen and when each was last seen, per release rather than per device, and deletes those records after 90 days.
• App updates. When it starts, the app asks the update server whether newer code is available for its platform, runtime version and update channel. The server counts launches per day for each release, and nothing more.

No request contains a name, email address, phone number, device identifier, advertising identifier, location, or any part of the ledger.

Like any request on the internet, these reveal the phone's IP address to the network that carries them. RaBalance's servers run on Cloudflare and do not record the IP addresses of the app's requests. Cloudflare processes them to deliver traffic and to protect the service from abuse, under its own privacy policy.

Backups

Backups go where the user sends them, never to RaBalance.

• iCloud, on iPhone. The app writes a copy of the ledger to its own folder in the user's iCloud, automatically when the ledger has changed and the app goes to the background. That copy is held by Apple under the user's Apple ID.
• File. The ledger can be exported as a file through the system share sheet, to wherever the user chooses.
• Android device backup. Android's own backup can include the app's data in the user's Google account, depending on the phone's settings.

RaBalance does not encrypt backup files. Anyone who has a copy of a file can read the ledger in it, so keep exported files somewhere you trust.

Email

Writing to [email protected], including through Ayarlar → Geri bildirim in the app, means RaBalance receives the message, the sender's address and anything attached. The app fills in its version and the phone's operating system version at the bottom of that email, where they can be seen and removed before sending. Messages are used only to answer them and to fix what they report, and are deleted on request.

What RaBalance does not do

It has no sign-in and no account. It contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code, does not follow anyone across other apps or websites, and has no crash reporting. It does not sell, rent or share personal data. If any of that changes, this page changes first.

Notice under KVKK

Data controller. The individual developer who publishes RaBalance, shown as the seller on its App Store and Google Play pages. Contact: [email protected].

Personal data processed. Technical request data: the IP address, handled in transit by the hosting provider as described above, together with the platform and release details the app sends. Communication data: the email address and the content of any message sent to RaBalance.

Purposes. Delivering rates and app updates, keeping supported versions working and the service secure, and answering messages and fixing what they report.

Legal grounds. Processing that is necessary to provide the app the user has chosen to install (Article 5(2)(c)), and the legitimate interest in keeping the service working and secure, provided it does not harm the user's fundamental rights and freedoms (Article 5(2)(f)).

How it is collected. Automatically and electronically, through the requests the app makes, and through email the user chooses to send.

Transfers. To the service providers that host the servers and handle email, which may be located outside Turkey, only as far as needed to provide the service and on the terms Article 9 of KVKK allows. Nothing is shared with anyone else, except where the law requires disclosure to an authority.

Retention. Release records are deleted after 90 days. Launch counts contain nothing that identifies a person or a device. IP addresses are not recorded by RaBalance. Emails are kept as long as needed to deal with them, and deleted on request.

Your rights. Under Article 11 of KVKK, anyone can:

• learn whether their personal data is processed, and request information about it if it is;
• learn the purpose of the processing and whether the data is used for that purpose;
• know the third parties, in Turkey or abroad, the data has been transferred to;
• ask for the data to be corrected if it is incomplete or wrong;
• ask for it to be deleted or destroyed under the conditions in Article 7;
• ask for those corrections or deletions to be notified to the third parties the data was transferred to;
• object to a result against them that arises solely from automated analysis of the data;
• claim compensation for damage caused by unlawful processing.

How to apply. Email [email protected]. Requests are answered free of charge, within 30 days at the latest (Article 13).

The ledger itself never reaches RaBalance, so there is nothing on a server to see, correct or delete. It is removed from the phone with Ayarlar → Veri & yedek → Verileri sil, or by deleting the app. Backups in iCloud or in exported files are removed by the user, wherever they are kept.

Children

RaBalance is a bookkeeping tool and is not directed at children.

Changes

When the app starts sending something new, this page changes before the app does, and the effective date at the top moves with it.
